The Lost Tribe or How I Got Kenneth Copeland’s Bible
One day God put it on my heart that I needed a King James Bible. Why? I had no idea. I still owned my torn up, musty, used New English Versions from 1970 and 1989. These were two different translations from Oxford University and all the learned scholars and clergy from the Protestant and Catholic churches of England, Scotland and Ireland had come together to translate them. I had prayed for my banged up Jehovah’s Witness’ version and a big study version on CD. These came through the front door. (I didn’t convert and I knew in their eyes I had turned my back on God.)
I was given a book of Mormon with Jesus appearing before the ancient Native Americans who were supposed to be from the Lost Tribe of Israel. The Mormon’s book stated that if we turn away from God, the blessing and protection will be taken away from “the land of liberty,”Jesus is the risen Messiah and the way to salvation. Their testament speaks of the New World’s place in God’s plan and although I never converted to becoming a Mormon, either, I’m glad to have been exposed to the texts, Donny and Marie, and the Romneys. (I don’t know if any one who is Native American embraces this history, but it does offer one explanation why there were tribes warring with one another and why Native Americans were so spiritual to begin with.)
Imagine the Lost Tribe building a ship and sailing from Israel to America. This doesn’t mean there weren’t tribes in South America which travelled north or tribes which crossed into Alaska from Asia, but there were ancient tribes before the Cherokee and Cree whose names have been forgotten. There are ancient mounds and 1,000 year old fish traps in Etowah, GA built by the tribes who created these people. Scientists have found shells native to the Pacific buried in the dirt and evidence of Noah’s flood in America as well as in China. I am a hidden Cherokee, Sioux, and Hebrew woman after all. Holy men and chiefs had always recognized me. (It’s too bad I didn’t run away with a band of Apaches in 1998. The chief wanted me to marry a brave. I was honored, but too raw from my divorce to entertain the initiation.)
I prayed silently for a Bible: A King James Version without the pages falling out, with text I could read. The next day I received a coupon from KCM for a brand new bible for free. I sent the coupon in and I was sent a beautiful leather edition of half a bible. Apparently God wanted me to have a New Testament bible with notes from a Native American Southern minister who had a beautiful wife and flew airplanes. I laughed because God made it very clear to me: You need to focus on the New Testament, with Kenneth Copeland’s marked up, highlighted notes and Jesus’ words in red. You don’t have this. I had asked for a bible and I had been sent a specific King James Bible with EXTRAS. So, how did KCM know? Explain that one to me. Can you? I asked Jehovah and He delivered a beautiful, new Bible faster than Fed-Ex and Amazon.com combined.
I WONDERED WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT HAD DONE IN FORT WORTH TEXAS. Well, I knew that this family was the real deal, but this was SUPERNATURAL. This was part of the BLESSING. I was staying with father and we were taking care of each other, and I had walked off my job to intervene and I was moved to tithe whatever we had left over, plus extra to several places. Pennies and dollars added up. People laughed at us and mocked us, but we are part of the blessing: God, your prayers, and the Blessing made all the difference.
