Sally Hemmings
I have always loved history. I like black history and believe Sally Hemmings was an exceptional person. I will never know why she didn’t stay in Paris. I am ignorant about her relationship with her sister Martha Jefferson and her master/lover Thomas Jefferson. I am pleased that the Hemmings family is being recognized as the Jefferson has been. Remember, someone who did not like the president brought the story to the press and exposed Sally. She could not speak publicly or hire a lawyer or leave the plantation. There are many issues here. Many people have a history that may still have to be unearthed like Sally’s room.
