Restoration

Writer's picture: Joan M. NoeldechenJoan M. Noeldechen

My father’s home has been ransacked over the years. It is where my father planted his flowers and trees. He drank a lot of beer here and chopped a lot of firewood.

I keep expecting him to return and plant something new as his music is filling the yard…Sheena is no longer running around the property…with her red tail in the air…I placed her ashes with my father in the military cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Sheena guarded my father for fifteen years and died on the property where she was buried until my father passed away.

Can you see the love between them?

I still do and remember.
