Mrs. Golden and the Boy Next Door

Writer's picture: Joan M. NoeldechenJoan M. Noeldechen

This blessed Jewish woman took care of Frank Sinatra when he was a boy in Hoboken, NJ. His mother was busy helping people in her community and his father who was ill was working to support them. No one was home to be with Frank. He had no brothers or sisters. He had family, but he was always alone when he wasn't with a gang. He had dreams and Mrs. Golden listened to Frank Sinatra and taught him Yiddish, fed him, listened to him sing... He was forever changed by this beautiful Jewish woman, his neighbor. She took him to her Cantor. I believe this Rabbi knew Frank Sinatra would help the Jewish people in America and in the Holy Land. He may said a blessing of Abraham over the young man. Maybe he knew Frank had links to Rome, Sicily, Genoa, and Fatima in Portugal. He may have taught Frank vocalization, as a Cantor did with Judy Garland during the same era. I did read on Wikipedia that Mr. Sinatra gave every American Service Person a St. Christopher medal with a Star of David on the back during World War II. He also helped my father found the nation of Israel with the United States Government. Read up on it. Kindness can change millions of lives. Mrs.Golden and Frank Sinatra had their own covenant. God worked miracles through Frank Sinatra. Even the Holy Fathers in Rome knew it...

For the Sinatra Family

My father Warren guarded Frank, his friend. That is my father in Frank's dressing room. This picture at the Sands hotel captures Mr. S. (who taught me to sing) communing with his God in Heaven while singing for people. He really was touched by God and I know he sings "Ave Maria" for everyone in Heaven and the Holy Mother smiles upon him, as does her Son.
